Rebar Data and Rebar API: The Bitcoin Infrastructure Builders Need

Rebar Data

Rebar Data provides complete access to Bitcoin blockchain data through a single platform. Every transaction, every block, every address across Bitcoin's entire history unified with activity across Ordinals, BRC-20 tokens, Runes, and Alkanes smart contracts.

The Data Platform serves two primary functions: exploration through the Rebar Data interface at data.rebarlabs.io, and programmatic access through the Rebar API for developers building applications.

Access is complimentary during the Rebar Data Alpha Phase.

The Data Layer

Bitcoin Base Layer

Rebar Data indexes the complete Bitcoin blockchain:

  • Transactions: Every transaction from Bitcoin's genesis block to the present, with full input/output details, fee data, and confirmation status
  • Blocks: Every transaction from Bitcoin's genesis block to the present, with full input/output details, fee data, and confirmation status
  • Addresses: Wallet activity, balance history, and UTXO tracking for any Bitcoin address
  • Mempool: Real-time visibility into unconfirmed transactions and fee market dynamics
  • Mining Statistics: Hashrate distribution, pool performance, and network security metrics

This base layer data forms the foundation upon which all metaprotocol activity is built. Builders need to know what's happening at the block level, no matter what they plan to build.

Metaprotocol Coverage

Beyond native Bitcoin data, Rebar Data indexes the major metaprotocols expanding Bitcoin's capabilities:

Ordinals
Digital artifacts inscribed directly on individual satoshis. Rebar Data tracks inscription metadata, ownership history, sat positioning, and rarity classification. Every inscription is indexed by number, ID, and associated address.

BRC-20
Fungible tokens deployed through the Ordinals protocol. The platform provides token balances, minting events, transfer logs, and deployment data. Both available and transferable balances are tracked separately to reflect BRC-20's unique mechanics.

Runes
A native Bitcoin token standard with UTXO-based accounting. Rebar Data monitors etching events, holder distributions, and transfer patterns. Supply, circulation, and volume data are accessible for every rune.

Alkanes
Smart contracts executing directly on Bitcoin L1. As the newest metaprotocol, Alkanes continues evolving. Rebar Labs integrates indexer updates alongside Alkanes development, providing access to contract ABIs, bytecode, state information, and transaction simulation.

How to Access

Create your API key on your Rebar Data Dashboard. Rebar Data offers multiple access methods to serve different needs:

Rebar Data Explorer

The web interface at data.rebarlabs.io provides visual exploration of Bitcoin and metaprotocol data. Search any transaction, address, inscription, or token. Explore blocks with complete metaprotocol context. Monitor real-time activity across all supported protocols.

Use the Search bar to find anything and everything happening on and within the Bitcoin blocks.

Rebar API

For programmatic access, the API provides three interface options:

  • REST API: Structured endpoints returning JSON data for specific queries
  • RPC Interface: Bitcoin Core compatible JSON-RPC with extended metaprotocol support
  • GraphQL: Flexible queries for complex data retrieval requirements

All three interfaces access the same underlying data infrastructure. API keys are created instantly through the Rebar Data dashboard.

Developers have their preference for the UI/UX for Rebar's Data. Rebar Labs offers API, RPC, and GraphQL access through the current free tier, and all future paid tiers.

What You Can Build with Rebar’s Data

Unified Bitcoin data infrastructure enables applications that were previously impractical to develop:

Wallets that display complete asset holdings—native Bitcoin alongside inscriptions, tokens, and contract positions—with accurate balance tracking and transfer history.

Analytics platforms that provide visibility across the entire Bitcoin ecosystem, from base layer metrics to metaprotocol adoption patterns to cross-protocol interactions. Build with, and on top of, Rebar Data.

Trading interfaces that access real-time token data, liquidity information, and market activity across multiple metaprotocol standards through a single data source.

Development tools that help builders understand contract behavior, simulate transactions, and analyze protocol activity without maintaining separate infrastructure for each metaprotocol. Rebar's GraphQL interface will be your development playground.

Research applications that enable ecosystem analysis, holder behavior studies, and economic modeling using comprehensive historical data. Team up with Rebar Labs' Research for your next piece!

The infrastructure handles the complexity of Bitcoin's expanding data landscape today, and will adapt as Bitcoin's metaprotocol landscape grows. Applications built on top of the Rebar Stack can focus on building instead of building their own data infrastructure.
